Why email
Why should a small business use email marketing?
Winning a new customer takes time and money. Getting a happy customer to come back is usually far easier, as long as they remember you when they next need you.
Email is one of the simplest ways to stay in touch. Your list belongs to you, so you are not relying on a social media feed deciding who sees your posts, and the people on it have already chosen to hear from you.
Done well, email marketing brings back past customers, fills quiet weeks, introduces new services and turns one off buyers into regulars.
What I do
What does email marketing include?
I can set everything up for you, send campaigns for you each month, or both.
List building
Sign up forms on your website, a reason to join, and tidying the customer details you already have, with consent handled properly.
Welcome emails
A short, friendly series that introduces new subscribers to you and your services while they are most interested.
Newsletters and offers
Regular emails with news, tips, seasonal offers and new services, written in plain English and in your voice.
Reminders that bring people back
Rebooking reminders for appointments, yearly service reminders and reorder nudges, sent automatically at the right time.
Review requests
A friendly email after each job or appointment asking for a Google review, with a direct link.
Reports in plain English
How many people opened and clicked, what they clicked on, and what I suggest for next time.
Ideas
What emails work well for different businesses?

Hair, beauty and wellness
Rebooking reminders, new treatment launches, gift voucher offers before Christmas and Mother's Day, and last minute availability.
Shops and online stores
New stock, reminders when someone leaves items in their basket, and offers for returning customers.

Questions
Email marketing: your questions answered
Is email marketing still worth it for small businesses?
Yes. Your email list belongs to you, unlike social media followers, and the people on it already know your business. A regular, useful email keeps you in mind and brings customers back without paying for ads each time.
What kind of emails should a small business send?
A welcome email for new subscribers, a regular newsletter with news, tips or offers, reminders when a customer is due to rebook or reorder, review requests after a job or appointment, and the occasional seasonal offer.
How often should I email my customers?
Often enough that they remember you, but only when you have something useful to say. For most small businesses that means once or twice a month, plus automatic emails like welcomes and reminders.
Do I need permission to email my customers?
Yes. UK rules say you need people's consent to send them marketing emails, although there is an exception for existing customers who bought from you, as long as you only tell them about similar products or services and gave them a chance to opt out. Every email must include an easy way to unsubscribe. I set your sign up forms and emails up with this in mind.
Which email marketing software do you use?
I can work with the software you already have, or help you choose a simple, good value tool that suits the size of your list and what you want to send.
How much does email marketing cost?
It depends on how many emails you want and whether you need set up, a one off campaign or monthly support, so get in touch for a price.
