Why Team Training Works

A Team That Understands Digital Marketing Is Worth More Than an Agency That Does Not Know Your Business

External agencies have their place, but a team that genuinely understands digital marketing delivers something no agency can — deep knowledge of your brand, your customers and your business, combined with the skills to act on it.

The challenge most businesses face is that digital marketing moves fast, most training available is generic, and the gap between what the training covers and what the team actually needs keeps growing.

Our team training solves this by being built entirely around your organisation. Every example uses your industry. Every exercise uses your tools. Every recommendation is framed around your specific goals. The result is training that actually translates into better work, not just certificates.

The organisations that invest in genuine capability building consistently outperform those that rely entirely on external support.

The value of building in-house capability

Your team knows your brand — no agency ever will as well

In-house execution is faster and more agile than agency timelines

Training is a one-time investment with ongoing returns

Skilled teams make better decisions about external spend

Staff who feel invested in are more engaged and more effective

We deliver training for a wide range of teams within organisations. Here are the most common groups we work with and what they typically need.

  • Channel-specific deep dives
  • Strategy and planning workshops
  • Tool training on your specific platforms

  • Understanding the buyer journey
  • Email outreach that gets responses
  • Using CRM and marketing data effectively

  • Social media management and tone of voice
  • Measuring content performance

  • Accelerated onboarding to your channels
  • Practical skills training from day one
  • Your specific tools and processes
  • Ongoing coaching as they grow into the role

Workshop Formats

Choose the Format That Works for Your Team

We offer three main formats depending on the depth and breadth of training your team needs. All can be delivered online or in-person.

Half-Day Workshop

Focused Skills Session

A 2.5 to 3 hour session covering a single topic in practical depth. Ideal for teams who want to go deeper in one specific area of digital marketing without a full-day commitment.

  • One focused topic per session
  • Practical exercises throughout
  • Supporting resources included
  • Best for up to 12 participants
Full-Day Workshop

Comprehensive Day Session

A structured full-day programme covering multiple areas or going deep on a single channel. Time for hands-on work, questions and discussion. The most popular format for team training days.

  • Multiple topics or in-depth single channel
  • Morning and afternoon sessions with breaks
  • Group exercises and discussion
  • Action plan produced during the session
Training Series

Multi-Session Programme

A series of sessions spread over several weeks, covering multiple disciplines systematically. Gives teams time to implement learning between sessions and builds capability progressively rather than in a single intensive burst.

  • Covers the full digital marketing mix
  • Implementation tasks between sessions
  • Progress reviewed and adjusted throughout
  • Best for comprehensive upskilling programmes

Why Bespoke Beats Generic

The Difference Between Training That Sticks and Training That Is Forgotten

Most training fails not because the content is wrong but because it is not relevant enough to the team's actual situation. Here is how our approach compares.

Our bespoke team training

  • Built around your brand, industry and tools
  • Every example uses your actual business and market
  • Exercises produce real outputs your team can use immediately
  • Pitched at the right level for your team's knowledge
  • Leaves every participant with clear actions to take
  • Follow-up support included after every session

Off-the-shelf courses

  • Generic content that applies to every business equally
  • Examples that have nothing to do with your industry
  • Exercises that participants have to translate into their context
  • Fixed level that may be too basic or too advanced
  • Often leaves participants unsure what to do differently
  • No ongoing support once the course ends

What Your Team Walks Away With

Outcomes That Go Beyond the Training Room

Our goal is not just to teach things — it is to change how your team works. Here is what participants consistently leave with.

Practical skills they can apply the next day

Every session is built around application, not theory. Participants leave knowing exactly how to do something differently from the moment they return to their desk.

A written action plan for their specific role

Every participant leaves with a personalised action list covering what to change, what to start doing and what to stop doing, based on their specific responsibilities.

Templates, toolkits and reference materials

All supporting materials produced for the training are yours to keep. Templates, checklists, process guides and resource lists tailored to your team and tools.

Shared language and understanding across the team

When a whole team trains together, they develop a shared understanding of how things work and why. This reduces friction, speeds up collaboration and improves the quality of decisions.

Measurably better marketing output

The ultimate measure of training effectiveness is whether it produces better work. We build training around the specific outcomes your organisation wants to see, so impact can be tracked.

Follow-up support for questions that arise

Learning does not stop when the session ends. Participants have access to follow-up support for questions that come up as they implement, so progress is not lost to uncertainty.

The Process

How We Design and Deliver Your Team Training

01

Discovery and Brief

We start with a conversation to understand your team, their current knowledge and skill level, what you want them to be able to do after training and any specific tools, channels or goals to focus on.

02

Training Design

We design the programme around your brief — selecting topics, building exercises using your real brand and market, creating supporting materials and structuring the sessions for maximum engagement and retention.

03

Delivery

Sessions are delivered at your premises or online, combining taught content, practical exercises, group discussion and Q and A. The pace is adjusted throughout to match the room.

04

Follow-Up and Support

After each session, participants receive session notes, their action plans and all supporting materials. Follow-up support is available for questions arising as the team implements what they have learned.

Quick Answers

Digital Marketing Training for Teams — Straightforward Answers

Plain-language answers to what organisations most often ask about team digital marketing training.

How do I get digital marketing training for my team?

The first step is to get in touch and tell us about your team — their current knowledge level, how many people need training, what you want them to be able to do and any specific channels or tools to focus on. We will come back with a tailored training proposal covering format, topics, duration and cost. There is no obligation at this stage. The proposal is free and gives you everything you need to make a decision.

How many people can attend a team training session?

Our team training works for groups of any size. Half-day and full-day workshops work best with up to 12 to 15 participants, as this allows enough time for individual exercises and questions. For larger teams, we can run multiple sessions or design a programme where different groups attend different modules depending on their role and focus area. There is no minimum group size — even a team of two can benefit from a tailored workshop.

Can the training be delivered at our offices?

Yes. We deliver in-person training at your premises anywhere in the UK. You will need a suitable meeting room with a projector or screen, and ideally individual laptops or devices for participants to use during practical exercises. If in-person delivery is not practical, all sessions can be delivered online via video call with the same content and interactive exercises. Many organisations now choose a hybrid approach with an initial in-person session followed by online follow-up sessions.

How do we measure the impact of team digital marketing training?

We work with you before the training to define what success looks like for your team — specific skills, behaviours or outputs you want to see improve. After the training, we can provide a follow-up review session to assess progress and identify any areas where additional support would be valuable. Measurable outputs might include improved campaign performance, faster and more consistent content production, better use of analytics or a reduction in external agency reliance. The right metrics depend entirely on your goals.

Common Questions

Things Organisations Ask About Team Digital Marketing Training

Our team has mixed levels of experience — can training accommodate this?

Yes, and this is one of the most common situations we work with. We handle mixed-level groups in a few ways: by structuring sessions so foundational content is covered first and more advanced material builds on top, by providing pre-session materials that bring everyone to a baseline before the workshop, or by splitting content into separate tracks for different experience levels. We discuss the best approach during the initial consultation once we understand the range of experience in your team.

How long in advance do we need to book?

For a single workshop, we typically need two to three weeks to design and prepare bespoke content. For multi-session programmes, four to six weeks allows enough time to do this properly. That said, if you have an urgent requirement, get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline. We will always be honest about what is realistic rather than rush something and deliver a poor result.

Do you provide certificates or formal qualifications?

Our training is practical and skills-focused rather than qualification-led. We provide a certificate of completion for each participant after every programme. If your organisation requires formal qualifications — for example, for CPD purposes — we can discuss how to structure the programme to align with relevant frameworks and what documentation we can provide to support that.

Can training be recorded for team members who cannot attend?

For online sessions, recording is possible with the agreement of all participants. For in-person sessions, we can create a written summary of key content and the exercises covered, which can be shared with absent team members. We find that written session notes plus a short catch-up call is often more effective than a recording for team members who need to get up to speed after missing a session.

Is ongoing training or refresher sessions available after the main programme?

Yes. Digital marketing moves quickly and many organisations benefit from regular shorter refresher sessions to keep their team current. We offer follow-up workshops, quarterly update sessions covering new developments in specific channels, and ongoing coaching for individual team members who want to go deeper in a particular area after completing the main programme.
